The idea behind this work derives from the weirdness of the Darwin's theory. Here's a part of the text from the Dog painting:

It is believed all the animals developed by themselves out of small particles, sea weed and minerals. This drawing represents different stages of the Dog's development; from the very early underwater living organisms to a full scale Dog animal.
